<p>How long should it be before they start coming back? I applied to Cortland, and Oneonta on the 25th.(deadline was extended due to Sandy). Should I expect anything before Christmas?</p>
<p>Oneonta’s website says they begin evaluating applicants on December 1 and decisions are made by January 1. Cortland says applicants are notified by January 1 as well.</p>

<p>^It’s not that simple. “By January 1” can mean anything-- the morning of January 1st, or December 20th, or any time before that.</p>
<p>FWIW I got my Binghamton decision two years ago the day before Christmas.</p>
