Early Action extension?

The MyMIT website seems to be experiencing some problems and the site mentioned that the EA deadline will be extended. Can anyone confirm this?

Call MIT at 617-253-4791 if you want to verify their extension statement, but I'd be willing to bet they aren't lying. :)

Matt McGann verifies the extension in his blog.

Update from MIT: the deadline will be extended for ALL apps, not just online ones. How long the extension will be has not yet been determined ... when the site is back up, probably a few days will be allowed.

do you think this will delay decision leets too, or do you figure they'll go ahead and get started with the completed apps they have?

I was thinking about that, and don't know. She said that they get the completed apps done first, but whether they will delay everyone's decisions to be "fair", I can't say.

The myMIT site is back up today. I wonder what this means for the deadline extension.

Just a heads up: The postmark deadline for Early Action applications has been extended to November 5.

Thanks for the update - I see that in the myMIT site now once logged in. :)
