Early Action/First Semester Grades Question

I have already been accepted Early Action and understand that I am not required to submit my first semester grades, however, I improved my GPA from 3.985 to 4.013 and I moved up from rank #5 to #4 of 190. Would sending my grades improve my chances of getting more financial aid?

Thanks!

Financial aid is need-based, not dependent upon your grades. Your family’s need won’t change with your grades, so it’s not necessary. If it makes you feel better, though, it can’t hurt.

Edit: I just remembered, one of the grants I got in my financial aid package was described as having a need and a merit component (whereas the rest only said need-based), and it said something about keeping a 3.0 GPA. I wasn’t really sure what it was, though, since it was just supposed to be financial aid. I do recall, though, that this was for a much smaller amount than the rest of my package.

I doubt it, but you can spend your time doing anything you want.

Sorry to hack the post, but I have a related question: I was also accepted EA. I did send ND my first semester grades a while ago, just because I wasn’t sure if I had to or not. Will they even look at them? Will it hurt me if they’re not great? I have a low A’s and a B-.

You’re grades are great.
