Early Action GS Applicants - Have you heard yet?

Hi, I am starting this thread to see if anyone has heard back from GS. When I spoke to the GS rep, he said that decisions should start this week.

I am keeping my fingers crossed!

I submitted my app in early January so I am waiting too. He said this week? Oh, gosh....

Have you gotten any other communication from the school?

I met a GS rep last week too, but he told me that the first decisions will be mailed out next week. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to get a letter in the mail tomorrow, I just don't think it will happen.

On the tracking page, do either of you have your letters of recommendation listed as received? I just have test scores and transcripts.

I have a similar problem on my tracking page. It hasn't been updated since I first logged on, and there's been no response to my email, so I figure they're just beginning to tackle our applications.

Ok, I am glad I am not the only one! They said they'd send out notification when everything was complete in my application, but I haven't received anything... I sent everything in over three months ago. Nervous nervous nervous :)

I will be taking the admissions exam next month, and applying either the following Spring or Fall. Good luck to you all, hope to see all of you at Columbia in 2009!

My tracking application page has been updated but doesn't list the letters of recommendation as something they track. I called to make sure and they said that they have everything. I am getting really anxious. I submitted my application in Mid-February. I really hope to find out next week then!

Any news yet?

i haven't heard anything. anyone else?

I actually called today and the lady said that decisions would go out at the end of April/beginning of May. She said that's the answer that she has to give to people.

:(

Still waiting, I guess..

seriously? i have to give my decision to other colleges by May 1st....
not sure what i will do in that case.

what is everyone else planning on doing?

There's not much I can do except wait. I really hope that decisions go out sooner. Let's keep each other updated.

I just heard this morning. They called me while I was in class. I'm still in shock.

seriously??? you got a phone call? WOW!

Yeah. I was hoping I might get one, because I read on the boards that last year's applicants received phone calls. It made me feel really special.

I got a phone call today!!! COLUMBIA HERE I COME!!!!

Congrats to both of you!!

Congratulations columbiagirl! What's your major, if you don't mind my asking?

The person in the admissions office who gets to call newly accepted applicants must have the best job in the world that day. Consider the work:

Call up newly-accepted student

Inform them of status

Listen to screams of unbridled joy

Get thanked profusely

Get asked some perfunctory questions

Hang up with a big smile on your face

Repeat this process every 5 minutes for 8 hours

Go home

Not bad.
