Hey Guys

So I just saw this newspaper article.
Princeton University - Princeton to reinstate early admission program
also
UPDATE: Harvard Announces Return of Early Action Admissions Program | News | The Harvard Crimson

Harvard and Princeton have restarted their Early Action policy.
Why do you guys think this has happened.
I feel its because of one/or more of the following :-

1) They want to give URMs a better chance of getting in and thus appear more diverse (and thus regain its no 1 ranking in the world).
2) To benefit Athletes and Legacies.
3) To stop them from losing to students to the other 6 Ivys. Penn, Cornel, Brown, Dartmouth and Columbia have Ed and Yale has SCEA. So I guess a cream of the top notch students didnt want to wait till the RD round for their college admission.
4) To encourage more students to apply and thus lower their acceptance rate.

Feel free to discuss.
