Hello,
So basically my situation is, I know that it is beneficial to apply early action to schools. However, my GPA right now is lower than it could be. I am very optimistic that my performance next semester can improve it, but if I apply early action, I can only use my old GPA. Of course, if early action deferred, I would be fine with applying early action, but is it worth it on the chance that I am rejected?
It depends on the school and your intended major. Purdue, for example, fills almost it’s entire class EA and RD admits, especially for majors like CS or Eng, are few and far between. Also, at some schools, you can only be considered for merit $ if you apply EA. Do your due diligence for the schools on your list.
IMO, you are better off using your current GPA to find your match and safety schools .
