Early Action Notification.. pshh yeah okay......

when my friend got accepted into the school, it had said right on the website where they got accepted that they got into the honors program as well, although they didn’t apply for it, they got notified online, and got the scholarship in the mail

AMK, on application status website it will say Honors … scholarship comes in mail per other posts

good luck

I have been accepted at UCONN and into the business program (OOS). I received a folder in the mail today with an acceptance letter and information about a deposit. I did not receive any information about scholarships? Did they not give me any scholarships???

^^

** I just called the Admissions office and the lady said merit aid is granted at the time of acceptance and included in the admission letter…

NO MERIT AID???

Congrats cg yeah the wait is killing me

I got into the honors program, but no merit aid? It didn’t even mention it in my letter…

My son got merit scholarships a U Vermont, UNew Hampshire, UMass Amherst and nothing from UCONN dissappointing.

accepted a couple of days ago for ea for business management.

3.8 weighted gpa
26 act composite

congrats to everyone else who was accepted ea to uconn and good luck to those who have been defered. Also accepted to JMU, UMass Amherst, and Rutgers.
the 4 week notification was weird because the next day I found out that I was in. I hope this case is the same for the rest of you.

Okay so I checked randomy on the UCONN application status page: they told me they’re deferring my decision for now and taking a second look. No prior 4 status message or anything…just changed within 12 hours. They want midyear grades.

AGH! All this waiting for a deferrment for a “second review”. What does that even mean??!

My stats again:

3.89 W
25 ACT
top 1/3
co-editor-in-chief of newspaper, amnesty international exec. board
3 sports, volunteer work, more extracurriculars
amazing recs

We are VERY disappointed as well. Our dtr was offered merit scholarships at the other schools she applied at, all except UCONN. We live in CT,and she would live on campus, so the tuition is better than OOS but a little merit aid would have been nice. I’m not too hopeful with the financial aid situation there either. Time will tell…She did feel bad that she rec’d no merit from her #1 choice. Go figure…

It just basically means your on the border. All they want is to see how you did the first semester, if you did well, your in. If not, then you will be denied. Since your gpa looks good, its probably the ACT score that put you back a little bit, but honestly these days anything can happen. How did you do in the first semester?

Thanks =)

Looks like this year the qualifications for merit aid are pretty high. They’ve received a lottt of applications this year, probably a mix of ranges including very qualified- less chance of getting the merit for all?

I am locked out of my account and haven’t been able to directly contact them b/c of schedule conflicts, so I don’t know when I had the 4 week message. I did get the email saying that my application status changed, and then got it in the mail after 4 days I think.

And I agree with Wilkey about the reviewing. They just probably want to see that you kept up the hard work throughout your senior year cycletheroad. Good luck!

My qtr. 1 GPA went down a tad because I didn’t have as many honors classes, but I had all A’s and two C’s. This quarter I have all A’s, one B+ and a C. Thanks guys, hopefully UConn will tell me sometime!

Remember that UConn is a safely school for many students applying to top 10 institutions, so come April you will see another waive of merit aid offers once admissions determines who is and is not going to attend.

uh-oh, does anyone know what this means? “Information on your application is currently unavailable. Please check the Student Center, after the next business day, for updates to your application status. We apologize for this inconvenience.” Status just changed to this message from “your application was complete November 1st”.

I have the same status…

This application is Complete.

Information on your application is currently unavailable. Please check the Student Center, after the next business day, for updates to your application status. We apologize for this inconvenience.
