As of now my SAT score is a 2090 (CR:600, M:740, W:750) and my top SAT II scores are Chem:790 and Bio:680. I am definitely retaking the SAT I to improve my reading score and taking the SAT II Math II (hoping for a score above 700) in December for the schools I am applying for in January. Because Boston College is probably my top choice, I want to know early. Are my SAT II scores good enough that I could just apply for early action and get accepted?

I think you have a good chance of getting in EA. If anything, you might be deferred but definitely not denied EA. It’s worth a shot.
I applied EA with almost no hope of getting in, but ended up getting accepted right away.

You only provided your SAT scores. Missing are your GPA and ECs.

If you provide those, then contributors on this forum can help point out things you can do to improve your changes. But no one will be able to tell you if you’ll get accepted or not.

My weighted GPA is a 4.4 and unweighted is a 3.8. My ranking is 15 out of 400 something. I got a 5 on my AP Chem test. Junior Year: 1 AP, 4 Honors/ Sophomore: 4 Honors/ Freshman: 3 Honors. EC include girl scouts, 5 school clubs, lead director of National Honor Society. Also, applying as a Biochemistry Major

Your gpa and class rank look good.

What is missing are things like “who you were in your ECs”. Were you a warm body, or did the ECs grow and thrive because of you? Will your recommendations support such a strong character? Does your essay help the adcoms understand who you really are?

I’m not asking you to provide the answers here, because the only ones who will really be able to if you’re likely to be accepted will be the adcoms as they’re reviewing your application.

Back to your original question:

If, as you say, BC is your top choice, and you want to give it your all, you could take SAT prep classes this Sept and Oct and study the material for your SAT II subjects, and retake the SATs in the fall. Then apply early action. If you get deferred, you can update your application with your hopefully higher SAT scores.

No guarantees, but as a plus, if you do pursue the above, the act of showing that much sincere motivation has caught the eye of adcoms in the past.

My D was admitted EA three years ago very similar stats to yours. Weighted GPA 4.45, SAT about 2000, top 5% of class, most rigorous academic program that her school offered, good EC’s. Try to put in a fantastic essay.

I tend to be cautious when giving input about applications. I agree that what jmh8290 has shown us looks strong, but it will have plenty of company.

I am always a little stunned each year after reading the decision threads. There are always some with very high academic profiles, getting deferred, waitlisted, and or rejected.

Unfortunately, a couple of those waitlisted or rejected were told in this forum: “Don’t worry - you’re definitely in.”
