Early Action or Regular Decision?

Hi! With the EA deadly creeping up on me, I would truly appreciate advice on whether I should apply Early or Regular. Villanova is one of my top choices, and I want to show them that- but I also want to apply in the decision that gives me the greatest change of getting in. PLEASE give me guidance!

Catholic All girls school in Chicago
GPA: 3.74 UW, 4.42 W
ACT: 31, 33 Superscore
SAT: 1380
Rank: top 15%; 19/129 (not sure which my school sends)
Full IB Diploma Candidate (no APs offered; 4 on IB Chemistry)

Lots of school related service and non service activities:
4 years Cross Country
4 years Lacrosse
Officer of Environmental Club
Local sustainability award
honorable mention in local film fest
Implemented composting bins in cafeteria
Officer of Pep Club
Mentor to underclassmen at school
Ambassador/ led open house tour host
Student Government One year
Shedd Aquarium Teen Work Study Summer 2016
Spring Break Mission Trip to Guatemala Spring Break 2015
Babysat Teenager with special needs
probably between 100-200 hrs of service once I add it all up
a few more ECs I can’t think of right now but this is the gist of it!

any advice is greatly, greatly appreciated!

@keurig83 it seems like Villanova is a match for you. Apply EA and if you don’t get admitted your application will be deferred to RD. I think your stats are high enough that you will not be outright denied. Check the common data set for Villanova to see where you place within their stats. Not sure which school in Villanova you will be applying to but keep in mind VSB is harder and more competitive to be admitted to. Good luck!

@keurig83 just an update on some prior information I gave a few posts back. I have one son at Villanova now and a junior looking to apply next year. My S who is a junior attended a college fair last night and spoke with the admission counselor. I think they have changed there policy under the EA admissions process. Prior, if you applied EA and were not accepted your application was deferred to RD. Now, you can still get deferred to RD but you can also be denied. Just thought I’d follow up with some more current information. I recommend you go to the Villanova website or call the admissions department to verify. Good luck!
