Started to fill out my UMich application, but wasn't sure whether or not to select EA or rolling admission. I'm applying ED to Northwestern, so I can apply EA to Michigan (right?).

But which gets an earlier decision - EA or rolling? I assume EA, but I'm not sure.

I didn’t know Michigan still had rolling admission
Also rolling will come between two weeks to a month after you send in the app if I am right, so depending on when you send in the app EA or rolling could be quicker

I am pretty sure you want to put down Early Action. I don’t think anyone in Rolling Admission found out his or her decision before an EA student (that includes defers). Keep in mind, I’m not a 100% sure. I know some people who got accepted through Rolling decision in Jan, a month after EA decisons.

All EA were notified by the December deadline but many, many were deferred. Then some regular decision people heard a definative answer before the deferred EA’s.

Rolling admission was not very rolling this year. Most people found out in late March/early April, no matter when they applied. I’d do EA because you’ll know by a set date instead of “eventually.”

Just do Early Action, there’s no reason not to unless you can’t for some other college. You can find out earlier and you get it done and over with
