Anyone have an idea of when early action applicants should have an admissions response?

My S, who began attending CofC this Fall, found out at the end of November/very first of December. As admissions are rolling, I would suspect that you should find out shortly. The number of applicants has been increasing yearly which I'm sure adds to the time involved.

cofc isn't rolling. at least they don't say they are. the site says you should hear around mid-december for early action. i applied EA as well but i'm really nervous I wont get it!! (my gpa is below a 3.0 and I'm out-of-state)

I know that my S had his acceptance prior to December. Either way, both of you should hear shortly.

She received an email with information on how to check her application status on line that said due to the number of applicants, not to call and inquire about missing items until after November 19. Her transcript is still showing missing, although it was mailed by her school on October 23.

I had many conversations with admissions about my son's missing transcript. C of C wants high schools to electronically send transcripts. Our HS does not have the capability to do that so my son's transcript was sent regular mail. It was sent on October 11th and didn't get scanned into the C of C system until October 30th. As long as the transcript is in their mailroom by November 1st then the deadline is met. I am sure it will show up on her "application status" soon. Good Luck to all!! C of C is my son's top choice and we are keeping our fingers crossed because we are OOS.

If anyone hears anything, acceptance or deferral, let us all know!!!

When I went to CofC to do an honors visit around halloween, the admissions people told me that as of then, they'd received 1500 more applications as a whole than last year. She said they're pretty backed up as they hadn't expected such an increase so it might be a little later this year. I think it's guaranteed by December somethingth though.

Good luck all! It's my first choice instate!!

wow 1500 more apps. that hurts my chances :-(

this school is getting more and more popular everyday. especially for OOS. i live in CT and like 20 kids from my school apply there, even though only a select few ACTUALLY want to go.

SAT696969-- We live in CT too and thank god only 2 or 3 kids from my son's school have applied to C of C. One thing to remember, OOS students pay a higher tuition so I'm sure the school would like some OOS'ers to go there! ;)

one thing to keep in mind though is South Carolina mandates that their public schools be at the very least 60 percent in-state kids. so they can't take too many OOS, whereas other public schools like UVM can (they are 65% OOS)...im very worried about my chances! my gpa is awful and my test scores are the mean average for OOS (around 1210) at cofc. oh well.

My son's GPA is good (3.7 UW) with many AP's but his test scores are average. Also I've heard that males have a better chance since more females apply to C of C and they try to even out the numbers. Our fingers will remain crossed until we hear. :)

I hope i do get in!!!
im an instate male with a 3.7W 3.3UW, 25 ACT with some good ec's.
My guidance counselor may have done me in because im sure she sent in my transcript last week....
i had my app in on oct 13...but i hope i can still get an ea decision!

My adcom counselor e-mailed me and said decisions have been made and to check CougerTrail, but when I checked my status hasn't changed. Hmmm...

Mine hasn't changed either, and I submitted mine in September (everything completed on Oct 3). Maybe it takes awhile to get them all up.

Anyone know when we get honors college/scholarship info?

crap. colleges always post acceptances online before they send rejection letters. same thing happened with my cousin and elon univ. his decision was randomly posted online saying he was in, and when his friend checked his status was the same as it was before, no update. then he got a rejection letter in the mail a week later. i'm getting very scared.

D's Application status is displaying a line she can't recall being there before. Does anyone know if the "Admit to" columns were previously underneath the "Applied To" columns on the application status page? (the page where you can see if they've received your transcript and SATs, etc.) None of the columns are completed (Degree, Major, Status, Status Date), but there's an asterisk under the "Major" column.

Does anyone recall if this was there before?

know what youre talking about. but...ive had those there for a couple of weeks now

i dont think theyre done with decisions yet. they received more applications this year than ever, theres no way they got done two weeks early.

We may be kidding ourselves by checking Cougar Trail all the time! We may really have to wait until mid-December to find out. :(
