I am not sure if I should apply to Boston College EA restricted or just ED somewhere else. If I don't get in, I don't want to lose my ED chances at some other school like Holy Cross or Bucknell (easier schools)

Please let me know. Thanks!

I’m coming in from left field but I think you’re in if you go early and have a really good essay with exactly what you said up above. The northeast is not a marching band place, honestly I didn’t even know BC had a marching band.

I think you could easily go ED 2 at the other two schools. I didn’t look at BC because I am a football player but looked at the other two schools. I think you are a really good candidate for any of these.

My grandfather was a “Ricky Ricardo” band director guy back in the 40s so I remember all the instruments. I think it’s great you play the trumpet. You get to play Taps. He always told me this, it’s a great privilege, if a sad one, when you get to do this.

Thanks for the response! Yeah great marching bands are in huge state schools, which I don’t want. I want a school with under 10,000 in the northeast with a marching band. The two ED schools I listed don’t have that but BC does. And yes, I was selected to play Taps at a Veterans Day ceremony in my town, great privilege.

BC REA: Match/High match

holy cross is ranked 25th best lac while bc is 31 in us news univ. category. some consider hc better school for academics and much stronger alumni network for jobs. hc website is very informative and holy cross has decent marching band.
