Early Action result out yet for USF?

oh and if we both end up at USF, thats pretty awesome (: !!

That’s actually a really good and important thing: that you feel a connection with the school and that you believe it is the school that will be the best for you. However, in today’s scetchy world of finances, don’t be set on any one school just to find out that it would be impossible to attend or if doing so will seriously put you into debt because of the FA package offered.

While I too love the sprawl of the USF campus because it seems like it’s inconspicuously patched into one of the greatest cities and the possible city connections it may net with it, I am waiting to make a decision once I receive the FA offer.

It’s like taken akin to a new Mercedes Benz. They look nice, show some sort of status level, but in the end they are expensive. Would attempting to own one right now put a financial burden on me? Yes. Will I still be attepmting to buy one despite that? No.

Is cost not a factor for you, like if your parents are willing to pay for it or you have a considerable amount of merit scholarships?

Yeah. My parents are really supportive and cost is not a problem for them. I am most likely going to a private school and hopefully usf! I hope your financial aid works out.

Great, then forget the whole FA ramble then. Best of luck!

Thank you!!! :)) whats ur top choice

My top choice is Harvard, but I didn’t apply there so I’m anticipating that they’re gonna come looking for ME.

Seriously, it’s UA. But some family and life issues might not permit me to go OOS. Here’s to hoping.

Hey! Also… Do you know about LMU ? How tough is it to get into.
'Btw I got a supplemental request for UCLA. Turtlerock,do you have any advice for me? thanks !

I hope things work out for you turtlerock. If USF works out that would be great!!!
Just curious; if you are looking into schools as good as Harvard , what are your stats and why did you even BOTHER to apply to USF? You’re obviously too good for it… haha:)

I don’t know anyone from LMU (try viewing their subforum here), but since you want my opnion, I think highly of LMU. I think it’s one of those underrated schools like William & Mary. LMU usually ranks just behind comparable schools like SCU, but sometimes I think it should be above.

What I really like about LMU personally is that from what I gather it seems like they (the school in general) make the effort of doing things outside the box that you’d find as a little more unorthodox at other schools. Just typing here I can’t think of anything specific, but hopefully something will come to me by the next post.

UCLA would be amazing.

The Harvard thing was a joke - I didn’t apply and I’m definitely not competitive enough for something like that. However, if they DO come looking for me, well then, I’ll be all ears.

Hahhaha you are so funny! Ucla is my top choice. Omg i love it: i got a supplemental questionnaire. See you at ucla! I wish!

Yeah LMU seems good but not my top choice… Like I don’t know enough about it.
I love USF, UCLA, NYU, SCU, LMU… But LMU is like one of the schools I know about , but not enough and my parents think its not prestigious… So we will see.
I hope I have options at least.
Did you get a supplement for UCLA?
I heard it helps if you’re borderline but
I got one. I Hope it means that I can get in though.
Hopefully , we will meet up at USF or UCLA, yeah  ?

I didn’t apply to UCLA so I’d be rather suprised if I did see you there. USF is a possiblity though. Well see soon enough.

Jus got a email from admissions, I got in! Transfer RD

Me too, Dawit11! Now for the FINANCIAL AID PACKAGE!!! I couldn’t attend in Spring 2012 when I got accepted because I only received loans… so lets hope it’ll be better for fall. USF is my dream school!

Unfortunately, I have gotten the notion that USF is pretty bad with aid. There’s an old thread about it a while back, so I guess we’ll see. Most everyone then got ONLY loans.

@gumbylinh right let’s hope the financial aid is good. Actually University of Miami is my top choice so If I don’t get into UM I’ll be attending USF most definitely.

@turtlerock
omg usf sends me the decision in march… so scared and worried:(((

turtlerock & newyorkmydreams, yes… i got accepted for spring 2012 and my financial aid package consisted of ONLY loans. when i went to one of the usf information meetings, the speaker there told me that they hold the bulk of their aid for fall students… but when i was telling the person who was helping me at financial aid that i couldnt afford to go and that i would try again in the Fall, she told me that i’d most likely get the same package! :(

newyork, don’t sweat it. You’ve already been accepted to comparable colleges. I know NYU is gonna burn for a while, but you’ll come to see that there are many many other great places to get an education.

gumby, that seems to be the drift with FA. I did their Net Price Calc on their website and of course I was maxed out on loans and given a sizable grant+work study to cover the rest. We’ll have to see though. I am definitely sitting down with someone from FinAid office on Saturday at their little gig to see what they tell me. I don’t think I’ve heard the “Fall applicants get more aid” song and dance. It would seem to me that if you need the aid, then YOU NEED THE AID.

Turtlerock
Ya it burns!!
Usf better work out:(
Im visiting again lol
