Early Action Results Thread!

Happy to say accepted. I wish everyone who was deferred the same results during RD. As for my Stats - they are on the What are My Chances thread with Mario. I am from Long Island.

wow. i have never felt like this in my entire life. I am sitting here thinking bout everything... last four years all the sleepless nights worrying about stuff... everything. while sitting here. in my car. in my driveway. next to the mailbox. waiting for the mailman who should be here any minute...

uhh, ihatesats....i'm pretty sure georgetown has rules that you are not supposed to apply to them early action if you applied ED elsewhere.

Georgetown University- Office of Undergraduate Admissions

i sure would have liked to receive your acceptance.

congrats to all who were accepted!!! It must be a great feeling. To all who were deferred, i'll be in your boat soon. But good luck for spring review... you still have a good chance in getting in regular!

oooo ****
ur rt
w.e.
i kno a lot of ppl that did the same thing

ARGH! No letter today. Monday, then, I suppose. (I am in MN).

I see the mailman! she is coming quickly!

I'm going to second cafesimone's request for someone to post the first sentence or two of an acceptance/deferral letter. I'm curious too! (and I need something to tide me over until Monday...)

deferred..............

OK DS is at work for the day we are Cleveland OH based. There is more than one page in the business sized envelope from Georgetown but I don't dare open her mail. Is she in, or deferred?

roamingcooks, I believe someone said acceptances have 3 pages in them...
someone confirm this!

doesn't make it right.

Can all who have received letters post where they are from? I

ok so basically the letter will come in a small envelope
but you are able to tell by the thickness of the envelope cuz acceptances have 3 pgs with a return envelope

so
thick=accepted
thin=deferred

i felt my envelope and it was thick and i got excited LOL

I went out in a -15 degree windchill and waded through 2 1/2 foot snowdrifts in the midst of a blizzard to get to my mailbox, and...........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................no letter.

dang, i'm jealous. ours is all melting in michigan.

Another one jumping on the deferred bandwagon. Sigh...

There were 3 pages and a self addressed envelope in my son's acceptance. He received it today in Ohio.

Dear Mr -

It gives me great pleasure to inform you that the COmmittee on Admissions has voted to accept your application for admission to Georgetown University. I am happy to offer you a place in the first year class for the fall of 2009.

You are to be congratulated on the distinction of being accepted under the Early Action program. Admission was especially competitive as offers were extended only to those candidates whose extraordinary academic and persoal accomplishments ensured they would be admitted regardless of the strength of the remaining applicant pool. This year, the Committee on Admissions considered over 6,200 applications, but limited the number of acceptances to approximately 18% of those who applied.

Georgetown does not require EA candidates to confirm their enrollment...blah blah blah...

I am pleased to speak on behalf of the entire Georgetown commnity in extending to you this offer of admission. I look forward to welcoming you to the University as a member of the Class of 2013.

Sincerely,
Charles A Deacon

(prob a bunch of typos but im not rereading it)

^ Was that for the college? SFS is a seperate admissions pool, right?
