I’m kind of confused because on the common app for OSU there is an early action option AND a rolling admission option… whats the difference if you apply early as rolling or early action? Is it better to apply for early action because it shows priority? I’m just confused why there’s two and which one is better if you want to go undecided and are already nervous about getting in

Early Action means that OSU is one of your favorite schools, and that you are likely to attend if admitted. Yes, your application will get priority compared to rolling admission. It has advantages both for you and for OSU. If you are nervous about getting in, Early Action will give you an answer earlier. This is very good if you get in, but could make you more nervous if you don’t get in (you still will be eligible for rolling/regular decision later on).

I recommend choosing Early Action. That way you know early if attending OSU is a possibility. Even if you do not get admitted, at least you know it is a challenge and you can lower your sights a little and apply to easier colleges. Unlike Early Decision, Early Action does not obligate you in any way.
