Early action still offered?

Does CMU still offer early action for AP/EA summer precollege students? I ask because the link you refer to is no longer active....

[AP/EA Courses - Carnegie Mellon offers Courses for College Credit](http://www.cmu.edu/enrollment/pre-college/apea.html)

Thanks - But this link only refers to “early admission” ie students who skip their senior year of high school and enrol at CMU a year earlier than normal… That’s not early action.

In the 2012 Catalog it says: "Students who complete two full courses in the APEA Program are exclusively eligible to apply to attend the university as degree students via the Early Action program. Under Early Action, students apply in September and receive a decision from the Admission Office in October. Those who are accepted can wait until the following April to decide whether to attend Carnegie Mellon. While successful participation in the APEA Program does not guarantee admission, students in the APEA Program have historically a higher acceptance rate to the university.

Im a highschool junior and i plan on taking the apea course the summer of 2012. I wanted to know does taking this course raise your chances of getting into CMU? I plan on going into the computer science program for cmu. Kindly let me know

All but one of my friends who went to APEA was admitted. The only guy who didn’t get admitted got a C in a course.

Early admission and Early Action are two different things. The only Early Action CMU offers is for APEA-- non-binding, and you can apply other places.

If you do well in summer courses and have a great high school record – you’re in!

Pick your summer classes wisely-- not taking two weeders!
I took ECE and nearly died-- but got an A. I also took 123 – which was intro to C-- but that was replaced in our new curriculum. So it didn’t really help me with anything other than relearning C in a more formal setting.

If you have $7000 for summer classes-- take it and you have an excellent shot at CMU - seems from the anecdotes 99% admit rate.

CMUGUY2014 - So are you saying that a student can attend APEA in the summer between junior and senior year, and then apply early action at the start of senior year?
