Yes, I go to an elite high school where that GPA isn’t that bad (not great though). But I got into my ED school anyway.
Deferred from business school, 3.9W, 33 ACT, good extracurriculars, good essays (at least I thought they were).
Bummed, a little surprised, but overall santa clara wasn’t super high on my list so I’m not crushed
DD accepted into Engineering with 4.6 W GPA and 35 ACT, plus substantial extracurriculars/service.
Accepted to the College of Arts and Sciences with a 4.0 W GPA and 30 ACT. Good extracurriculars/service and essays.
Has anyone recieved any acceptance packets in the mail?
^i’ll probably check today since it was raining yesterday for me so I didnt get the mail (live 45 min away from scu) lol
I think my essays were pretty good. For my Santa Clara specific ones I focused a lot on religion and faith. Santa Clara seems to be more lenient for instate. I am out of state and white. I’m crossing my fingers for regular decision
@college20212021 @mike8888 15 min from SCU and I didn’t get the packet yesterday.
Accepted with a 3.9 UW and 33 ACT (36 English, 34 science, 34 reading comp. tanked my math, but I applied as an English major so they probably don’t care) to the Arts and Sciences. Anyone know when the physical packet comes in?
Accepted with 3.4 UW and 31 ACT to Arts and Sciences!
Son was accepted yesterday to Engineering w/ 3.6 UW GPA and 34 ACT.
Got the physical envelope today, but i’m like 20 min from SCU. Also the packet didn’t include merit scholarship info, so I’m guessing we have to wait till it’s published online? Which takes 7 days within time you were accepted.
well financial is out!
I didn’t get any merit aid. Did you guys get a merit scholarship??
@TripleDentGum I got a merit scholarship today. Much smaller than other schools where I was accepted. I’ve heard SCU isn’t great with merit aid. If you don’t mind my asking, what were your stats?
I see, yeah I’ve heard they aren’t too great with merit aid either but I wasn’t expecting none.
GPA unweighted- 3.76
weighted- 4.09
ACT 32
If you don’t mind my asking, what were your stats?
I got the dean’s scholarship (18k) - UW 3.8, SAT 2350. @TripleDentGum @soulpup did y’all apply for financial need aid too?
Yep. Applied for financial need aid but they gave very little, and I would have to work/study.
And congratulations, @sunshine232 !
Any idea how merit based grants decided??
How do they determine Dean’s scholarship of other scu incentives.
