I’m applying Early Action to Stanford. Someone told me that I could apply to another school if it were a public university
I want to make sure this is true because I don’t want to jeopardize my Stanford application. Thank you
Early Action, yes. Early Decision, no.
Come on. go back and read Stanford’s web site. If you have your sights set on Stanford I’m sure you’ll have no problems understanding the rules.
Yes. But the Stanford website is clear on this. You should go read it yourself, not count on what you are told (even by us).
I did review the website. It states that I can apply non-binding early action to a public school like the University of Michigan. It also state that you can apply to ANY college with a rolling admission as well. So I could technically apply to 3 universities early. Here is the text from the website. I am just want to know if I’m seeing this correctly. My goal is to get accepted early to a good school and avoid later stress but I don’t want to do anything to affect the Stanford application. Any input will be appreciated. Thank you
Exceptions
The student may apply to any college/university with early deadlines for scholarships or special academic programs as long as the decision is non-binding.
The student may apply to any public college/university with a non-binding early application option.
The student may apply to any college/university with a non-binding rolling admission process.
The student may apply to any foreign college/university on any application schedule.
Yes you are reading it correctly. Not only non-binding EA at public universities, but ANY college with non-binding rolling admissions, or where early application is required for scholarships or special programs. So you can’t apply ED anywhere, because that is binding.
Thanks to everyone for your responses.
