I have been told that early action will lessen your financial aid. I have also been told only early decision does that, not early action. Can someone please give me the actual answer and the details of it please. My father has been unemployed since March and I'm deciding whether to put early action on my applications or not.

Early action should not impact your FA package and is non-binding. The problem with ED is that it requires you to withdraw other apps upon acceptance which removes the possibility of comparing multiple offers…it doesn’t necessarily affect the amount that a particular school would offer a student although that is a common misconception.

Where will you be applying?

Be sure to apply to some schools that are known to meet need otherwise you could be badly gapped even with a low EFC.

Rugters University, Clark University, Drew University, Pittsburgh University, University of Scranton, Goucher College, Boston University.

If early action is not going to affect my financial aid then I will be applying early action to all of them.
