Early Action vs Rolling for scholarship/decision

I'm looking at the Temple page and it says

Early Action

Students interested in Early Action must submit and complete their application by *November 1st. There will be no extensions to this deadline. We begin reviewing Early Action applications in September and we will notify students of their decision by January 10th. Early Action is not binding.

Rolling Admissions

Students who apply Rolling Admissions can expect to receive a decision from us 4 to 6 weeks after their application is "complete" in our system. The deadline for Rolling Admissions is March 1st.

Does this mean that someone who applies rolling decision in say August or Sept could get a reply before the Early Action applicants? Or does Rolling only kick in after Nov 1? I'm confused!

I'm trying to figure out which is best for the getting considered for merit scholarships.

r u applying this year as that will affect my answer? from what i hear, there will be some changes next year. this yaer, it does not matter whether u apply early action or not so long as ur stats are in scholarship range for the merit scholarships. there is a deadline date to appeal scholarship decsions(it might be in January, not real sure on that date) so you want app in by that date. most of appeals i guess would be about updated test scores which can increase you scholarship. my kid, who had stats in the merit scholarship range, applied in November regular application and got his acceptance letter about 2 weeks later.

Applying this year. Thanks @ctl987‌ !

good luck!! mine can’t wait to get to Philly :D
