Early Action

Got accepted with an 1840 and 3.5 gpa. Wasn’t sure about that one but I think my acceptance had to do with my involvement in the admissions process quite honestly, and the commitments I have outside of the classroom.

Deferred… 3.5 GPA (W), good EC’s, and 27 ACT.

My son from MA was accepted with 3.8 gpa and 1980 sat’s. He also had great ec’s and recs. He loved when he visited the first time–will have to plan another trip back!

deferred. my top choice school which seemed like a safety. gpa- 3.7 weighted and 1960 on the SAT, lots of volunteer work and probably good recs. i still dont understand why i was deferred.

If Elon is your first choice (or a top choice) let them know. Have your guidance counselor contact them if that’s possible. Send your admissions counselor a letter, updating him/her on your activities/grades. If you haven’t visited and you can, do so. Elon likes to see interest- as you can see from their large ED acceptance rate.

A lot of people I know with really good grades, test scores, and EC’s got deferred. I don’t understand why but who knows…

My D is accepted and so excited-but I warned her ahead of time it could go either way since they get so many apps that it’s hard to predict how they decide

Congratulations to those accepted , EA is the deepest pool of applicants at all schools and for those who have Elon as your first choice , enjoy your senior year , Elon is a hidden gem of a school that is gaining exposure.

For those deferred , don’t lose hope.If you truly believe that you are a strong applicant , you stand a good chance for an admit in March. For those deferred who have Elon as your first choice , you need to articulate that in a sincere manner to the admissions office. In my dealing with Elon admission I have found them to very responsive to displayed Level of Applicant’s Interest. Don’t pester them but get your point across.

What we may be seeing is the regional discovery in the northeast of Elon and a stronger applicant pool. Trying to “chance” your application against the last few years admit data may lead to erroneous assumptions.

Good luck to all.

Elon looks for demonstrated interest. For those deferred, did u visit???

I was deferred and I visited twice
