Early Action

Anyone know when we can expect to recieve admissions decisions?

[Important Deadlines - Undergraduate Admission - Ithaca College](<a href=“Admission | Ithaca College”>Admission | Ithaca College)

EA is Feb 1st according to their web site (link above) - which is later than other EA at other schools my D applied to from what I can tell … actually Ithaca may be the last school we do hear from.

they start reviewing ea on dec 15 once the ed applications are done, then they start sending out decisions as they come along, the latest you will hear back is feb 1. I applied ed and they said I would hear dec 15 but I got my acceptance nov 27.

My daughter applied EA last year and heard on December 15, not sure how this year will work.

Are acceptances posted online or does something come in the mail?

EA (non binding) and ED (binding) have different notification dates (at the link I posted).

It makes sense for the binding admissions decisions to go out before the EA ones - especially after reading the housing related post here in this forum. Sounds like they have their hands-full.

It’s odd that notification for an EA admissions decision can stretch all the way out to Feb 1st… just seems long. Oh well. We’re just going to wait for the mail anyways.

My son applied Early Action to Ithaca last year, and his Acceptance Letter was dated January 3rd, so if the same holds true this year, you might expect something shortly after the first of the year.

I asked them about this and they said that they’re reviewing and releasing early action decisions.
So who knows you might get your acceptance letter tomorrow.

I received my acceptance today. I checked my my.ithaca account and it said I was accepted on Dec 6.

@cordoba - where on myithaca did you see the acceptance? Is it under the app checklist tab? Also did you apply EA or ED?

I saw my decision as soon as I logged in. It was on the home page of the website. I applied early action.

@Cordoba, do you remember when your application was complete? Thanks.

I think it will say it instead of the line…“you have applied for blank major” , above that big “fuse” box and below the tabs of home, ic peers, etc.

I guess no answer here yet.

We also received word on dec. 6th.

Got my result on Dec 10th, accepted B.S on the myithaca homepage little blue bar lol so unexciting.

3.4 GPA
35 ACT
Good EC/essays

Best of luck to all who apply!!

My S’s counselor called the admission dept and they told her that the majority of EA applicants will hear in mid January so hang tight.

Can someone please chance me? I am a white male from New York and attend a very large high school( new Rochelle high) I have a 90 unweighted gpa and 95.5 weighted gpa. I have taken 8 honors and ap courses and have received 4’s on all of my ap’s! I got 680 on math 600 writing 530 reading on my SATS. I was ranked 78/790 in my high school. I have a very good common app essay and solid teacher recs. I am the treasurer and fundraising head of the national art honor society, director of communications for a breast cancer awareness club, have been captain of boys varsity tennis team since 10 th grade. Outside of school I teach tennis to children with autism and founded spread the dough in by state( bring food to homeless shelter. I have a couple more EC as well. If someone could chance me a would appreciate it. Thanks

One of my daughter’s applied EA and applied for Exploratory . She got her package in the mail right before Christmas. She did not send in test score and they still gave her $15,000 yearly scholarship. I was very surprised. I think it was her high gpa in rigorous coursework, EC’s and recommendations that got her in without scores.( Although she was within the range anyway) So jschoolio I say you are in.

Anyone else hear from Ithaca yet that applied EA??

Yes, D applied EA and got acceptance before New Year’s
