Hi so I’m a junior and thinking about applying to UMD college park as an early action admission. However, I’m taking classes durin my senior year outside of school at a community college. Would the office admission at UMD see this transcripts after I apply? I’m taking extra classes so that i can get some classes out of the way and bump my gpa more. The early action deadlines are usually in November and I’m taking two classes for the first semester and maybe one class in the second. I will see if I can do it over the summer but my parents aren’t the wealthiest or the poorest and since I’m the third (youngest) child then that means im expected to pay for most of my things which im fine with so I was deciding on getting a job in the summer so I can pay off my tuition and etc. … So would there be any affect if I do well in the classes because I really want to get in the honors program if I get in to UMD. Also, if I don’t get accept will they put in the consideration about the classes I’m taking outside of school?
You will have to send the transcript before you get there. The additional classes go toward class rigor and you might get credit if you do well on the AP tests.
@“Erin’s Dad” yeah but if I turn in my application early with my transcript will they be able to see the extra classes I’m taking after the deadline?
You need to ask your GC what is on your transcript. Did you put your forecasted classes for this year in your application?
@“Erin’s Dad” no this is like for the fall of 2016
