Early Action

If I already have a good chance of getting accepted into a university (Seattle University), will applying early action help me at all?

One of the advantages of EA is to be notified earlier so if you get accepted, you can opt to not apply to some other colleges on your list. If your app is otherwise ready, you should go ahead and send it in. Not having it ready is the only good reason not to do so

I agree, there is no risk for Early Action (Early Decision is another story) as long as your application is ready to go. You have nothing to lose (you still get time to decide and look at other offers) and everything to gain (an early acceptance in your pocket allows you to not bother applying to those schools you know you wouldn’t choose over your already accepted school).

Another benefit to EA is that at many colleges you get priority consideration for scholarships so you may get some you may not have the RD round. Also you find out earlier so you can save yourself a few months of anticipation. It’s almost always better to apply EA bc of the smaller applicant pool so if you feel like you are borderline it could make a difference.
However as mentioned apply only if you are ready. Don’t rush to finish your essay if you don’t think its perfect. If your test scores could improve by taking them another time.

All right thanks for all the replies!
