Are there advantages/disadvantages for EA? Would we have more advantage than RD ppl by applying EA?

This would be useful reading about early admits. http://web.mit.edu/newsoffice/2005/admissions.html

Here's some general info about all admissions last year. http://www-tech.mit.edu/V126/N13/13admissions.html

Applying EA confers no advantage to you getting in... however, if you do get in, it saves you a lot of stress.

If your application is ready, test scores are satisfactory and you really want to go to the EA school I would highly recommend it. The three less months of stress allows better enjoyment of the remainder of senior year. That said there is still grade stress and higher teacher expectations. All and all though what could be better than knowing three months early that you are going to exactly the school you wanted to attend? MIT offers no EA advantage, however the deferred candidates do get a second look and, in the end, have a higher admit rate than RA although this could be due to the strength of the pool.

There is generally only a huge advantage to applying Early Decision, but of course that's because those programs are binding. Your application may actually be weaker if you apply early (less thoughtful essays, less polished, maybe you end up retaking a test, etc), but you can always update the application with your midyear report if you're deferred. There is no reason not to apply early to your top choice school.

If we take the SATs in Dec and score really well on them after being deferred in November. Can we send in those scores from the December test?
Or rather should I wait for RD to send in my app.

I think i can do well on teh Dec one since im not gonna have as much stress due to the fact XC season will be over and ima have more free time.

Yes, those scores (usually) get to MIT in time for RD review.

Yes, Decemeber is fine because they actually allow RD kids to take the SAT in December. Just fill out the part of the SAT form that says where the scores should go (don't try to send a score report through the College Board website or anything because it might get delayed). I don't know who would be brave enough to take the SAT for the first time in December... but if they're theoretically allowed, you can certainly retake it.
