early action

the website says that the early action decision will be posted the 20th, but do u think it'll be up earlier like most colleges do?

I can tell you that the ED decision was not posted early. But it was posted right at Midnight. Good luck.

they do put them up right at midnight, or close to it. this is the case with all things elon. ontrack is very true to the times they post

Would that be late night on the 19th or late night on the 20th. We're looking forward to knowing.

Check on the evening of the 19th right after midnight. Honestly, the OnTrack status message changed from "Application is Complete" to "Congratulations" right at 12:00:01

7 more hours!

Good luck sweethart and NCPOP (I assume for your child!),

Thanks Iderochi for your encouragement and all others on this site for providing insight on getting into and fitting in at Elon. Yup, I'm an NC Pop with a D that wants to go to Elon as much as I'd be happy if she'd think UNC or State (her folks almamaters and more in our budget) but she is really hoping for Elon. After visiting Elon her mom and I also think it would be a much better fit for her, personally, than the larger NC schools. We will see.

yay i got in!!

Accepted....

D is in too - very happy

congrats to everyone, feel free to contact me if you're visiting and are looking for someone to stay at elon for a night with. my email is gberliner@elon.edu i'd prefer to be contacted by students that are interested

Congratulations everybody

I made it in!

checked my email....got Presidential Scholarship

same here!

I recieved Presidential too

Congrats to EA folks and notably all Presidential Scholars. My D was fortunate there as well. She's thinking about applying to the Fellows program (Business) and wondering whether she has much of a chance. Do all Presidential Scholars get the $3,750 grant? If you're awarded the $3,750 grant do you think there's a pretty good possibility for Fellows and/or more merit based financial aid. We're debating whether to ask her to finish the UNC application. She prefers Elon, but as an in-state applicant, UNC is much more affordable. The family all went to the Elon open house in November and were really impressed so this is a tough decision. Thanks for any feedback.

Congrats to everybody

sigh No love for the ED kid. Not terribly surprising -- Elon is known for not bestowing much merit money on ED. From a business perspective, that makes perfect sense -- they would rather use their $$ to convince solid students (like you guys) to choose Elon, and for us the choice is already made. Ah, well. We'll see what happens.

Elon says that Presidential Scholars get "up to" $3750, but from what I read of last year's applicants, I think the $3750 was the norm. I think it would be silly for a Presidential Scholar to NOT apply for Fellows -- they've indicated that they want you, and so I'd go for it. Mind you, it looks like the Fellows program is a little stingy with money (except for Honors), i.e. being selected as a fellow doesn't equal getting more money.

BUT, congrats again and everybody should go for it!

i got the presidential one but only got $3,000
