Early Action

I still havnt gotten my letter, am i the only one?

We got ours today =)

I still haven't gotten mine..

Sunshinee, Their website states that EA decisions were mailed out on 1/10.

Sunshine i havnt gotten mine either, but i called admissions and they told me over the phone. so u can call and ask and they will tell you.

northeastmom, i know that.

brianb, did you get in? our messages stopped so i was wondering.

yeah, i got in. I got the letter in the mail today.

i got no letter- just a postcard for an EA-students open house.

sunshinee, I think that you should contact them and explain that you did not receive a decision and applied EA. In the event that you were not admitted through EA, I do have this info handy from 2004:
EA applicants-4,034
EA admitted-2,199 (55%)
Deferred to reg decision-1,678 (42%)
admitted from regular decision-822 (49%)<(These were the EA applicants that were deferred)

So a large % of applicants (42% in 2004) were deferred from EA to RD, and they accepted nearly one half of these applicants. I am not saying that you were deferred, but just in case, I thought you might find the statistics comforting to know that nearly half deferred from EA get in RD. I don't see this info on their website for the 2005 class profile, but I posted it for 2004 since I had it, and someone might find this very helpful.

well the postcard says, "congratulations on your acceptance to JMU! we invited you to a special open house just for our early-admitted students."

so yes, i believe i am in.

Well, Congratulations! It sure sounds like you are in! Do you think you are going to go to JMU next year? I still think that you should notify them, so that you get your official letter of admission. It really is strange about the way you are finding out that you were admitted.

thanks, i was hoping for the official letter so i think i will contact them soon.

Can some of you people please post your stats so others can compare to those who were accepted. I applied regular decision.
