Early Action?

I heard from somebody, and saw it again on a post here, that if you apply for Early Action you're more likely to get admitted if you have lower stats. Is that true???

slightly better chance

Why is this? And also when should I start sending in applications? (I just finished junior year)

There is a difference between early action and early decision. ED is binding, in other words IF you are admitted you agree to enroll and withdraw apps from all other schools. ED is ONLY if you are 100% sure that the school is your #1 choice. Colleges like that because it guarantees 100% yeild. EA is generally non-binding, but you recieve your decision usually in December. For the early decision/action plans you can be admitted, deffered to regular admission, or completely rejected. You should submit your application prior to the particular college's deadline for the ED plan you are applying to. Hope this helps, good luck.
