I've got a question about Yale admission procedures regarding recruited athletes. If a coach is interested in someone for an athletic team, how does this change the admission process? How much earlier might the admission decision happen?

recruited athlete's process starts earlier than most. you can ask for an early read of your application in hopes of receiving a "likely letter" that you will be admitted. you can ask for this in september/october much earlier than the official EA date

thanks! that is very helpful.

The Ivies are bound to a single joint date to inform accepts/rejects so a "likely letter" isn't 100% official -- in practicality it is but it's not the "actual" acceptance. The use of "likely letters" is a help to Yale and other Ivies assist admitted recruited athletes make their decisions (esp. with other schools' offers). Good luck to you.

thanks...I appreciate the info!
