hey guys! I didn’t get anything in the mail yet but I did just get an email from clemson that says it’s a follow up to my admissions decision letter and gives me info to set up my clemson account and it says they’re looking forward to having me as part of the clemson family!! guessing that is good haha so kind of excited!
When did everyone who has been accepted apply? I think the date that you submitted your app is the primary reason for an earlier notification. Two in-state people that I know were accepted last week and they applied in August/early September.
@starstare14 I applied in early september. I’ve heard that the primary reason for earlier notifications is if you are getting merit aid or had a provisional acceptance or are a palmetto fellows recipient
Same happened to my son this evening! No mail tomorrow, so hope for an envelope with information on Saturday. Congratulations!
I’m in-state with high stats (35 act, 4.0, palmetto) and I haven’t heard anything. Two of my friends were provisionally accepted junior yr and have not received an acceptance yet either. I’m thinking it’s based on application submission date but you may be right.
hm, I think it might be a combination of the two - high stats and submission date @starstare14
has anyone on the west coast heard from clemson? seems to be only instate/surrounding areas.
I emailed them to ask them what their standards are for early acceptance since every piece of literature I’ve seen from them says notification 2/15. (I didn’t word it that way but that was the gist.) It seems like they get the benefit of early deciding on applicants without the applicant who submits early getting the benefits of early action. I’m not sure that’s kosher to me but whatever they’re calling the shots. I’m OOS 4.6 GPA 1370 SAT and haven’t heard a word. In fact they lost my transcript. Ugh. I honestly have no clue if I’ll get in or not. Congrats to all who have and good luck to others!
Clemson does not have EA or rolling decisions. It states in their literature that applicants will be notified in February. When we attended Fall open house a year ago, we were told that some students would begin hearing late November /early Dec for higher stats students.
@SFLmom Unless your student is offered an interview for the National Scholars Program ( typically top 1% of applicants with SAT scores of 1500 or greater or 35 ACT and outstanding ECs) there are not additional scholarships offered for Calhoun Honors. The NSP scholarships are very limited and extremely competitive .
For everyone asking about provisional acceptance, it is not something that you apply for . It is something that Clemson offers students that have listed Clemson on the SAT or ACT as a school of interest , as well as the info they provide on Collegeboard when they register for the test. Clemson contacts students in their junior year to notify them.
In terms of the benefits of finding out earlier regarding admission , the only benefit is finding out earlier . There is no benefit for housing preference, as housing is determined by application date not acceptance date. Clemson offers scholarships based on the info explained on their website, earlier notification does not necessarily indicate higher scholarships .
As I said upthread , my son received his notification last year in Dec despite being instate with provisional acceptance. I know this is a very stressful time. My family went through it last year, but it truly does not mean anything if you have not heard yet. Most notifications come out in Feb.
carolinamom2boys - was your son a palmetto fellows scholar? I’m just wondering if we have any chance of hearing in December. My daughter’s school does not rank and is just below the 32 needed without ranking so she is not a fellows candidate.
@charlestonmom He was.
got my letter yesterday, got the 15k per year oos scholarship!! best of luck to anyone who is still waiting and congrats to those who got in!
Congrats @plaidpants5
Any more mailings out there? Are the letters in large envelopes or small?
Letters will be in a large envelope saying Tigertown Bound if accepted.
I got my acceptance letter today. I applied on November 4th, surprised I found out so soon.
OOS (Georgia)

Has anyone from the northeast heard anything??
