<p>that’s false. If rejected in an EA or ED round, you’re out of consideration altogether. Some schools will allow you to re-apply after another year.</p>

<p>Deferred = you’re put into the regular admission “pool”</p>
<p>Rejected = denied admission, period. BUT - the parent can always make a phone call follow-up, it never hurts. I know of parents whom did this (assuming the kid met the baseline admissions requirements) and with some discussion, their kid ended up getting admitted (no merit aid or anything like that, but the kid got admitted).</p>

<p>I think it definitely depends on the school. Usually a higher percentage is accepted EA than regular though.</p>
