I had no idea that Tulane had an application that gave you a decision this early on in the school year. Can anyone tell me about it for when I apply next year?

It's pretty simple. Tulane sent a flyer to my S about September 1 or so (can't remember) for something called a "personal application". I gave it to him and said in my best parental grave voice, "This is real" (based on what I learned on this website!) No long essay, just a personal statement, scores, transcript, counselor packet. He submitted his app on-line on October 30. On Friday (Nov 14) he got a letter with the admission offer and a $24K scholarship.

I'm not sure what exactly provokes the personal app offer. We registered and visited in July, but that's about it.

I'll tell you what did... Tulane is kind of desperate for students. They've had to take measures to keep serious applicants applying in recent years. With all the things they are doing, they are getting a ton of applicants, but they are doing it all because they were kind of in a pickle. Hurricane Katrina, etc etc etc, there's a bunch of stuff.

Everybody gets it.

So how do they know to send you a personal offer?

I think its off of pretty much anyone who ever gives their name to Tulane. And possibly PSATs/SATs as well.

Well I'm interested in to NROTC there, mainly because Tulane pays for room and board on top of NROTC's full tuition scholarship. Can anyone tell me what life is like, in a nutshell, at Tulane. Sorry, thats kind of a broad question but I've found that many people on this forum are very insightful. Thank-you in advance for any help.

I applied EA and I haven't received anything yet :\ No declined, no accepted, no deferred, no waitlisted. ARGH!
