Early chance - some decent schools?

White male junior, AR

GPA - 4.04 (currently), should be around 4.23 upon graduation, have NO idea about unweighted

SAT: 1970
CR: 700
M: 640
W: 630

SAT IIs: will be taking U.S. History and World History in June, history is my absolute high point, and I expect a score from around a 720-780

PSAT: 202

ACT: none

APs - sophomore:
US History - 5

APs - junior:
Euro - most likely 5
US Gov't - most likely 5
Human Geography - 4 or 5
Lang. and Comp. - most likely 4

APs - senior:
Will be taking 6 APs in senior year as well, for a grand total of 11

Course load: mostly AP and honors, with a few electives here and there, 5 years of French

Class Rank/School: all students with >4.0 GPAs are ranked #1 out of a class of about 750. School is one of the best in the state, or so they say.

ECs, Volunteering, etc.: decent, not spectacular (a few officer positions, strong dedication to a couple), don't feel the need to list them all out.

Colleges, in no particular order:
Illinois (legacy, mother's PhD, father's MA)
Wisconsin
Michigan (legacy, father's PhD)
NYU
Boston U
Northwestern
Swarthmore
UChicago (legacy, grandfather, not sure of level of degree)
UPenn

Thanks!

P.S. - I'd kinda like to think of some safeties...any ideas? Only requirements - must be in the northeast or midwest, must be urban/close to an urban center, must be as close to a guarantee as possible. Thanks again!

I promised myself I wouldn’t bump, but this fell off the first page with no responses…so, bump.

looking at ur PSAT u can do better on ur SATs, but i would say very solid overall!

Thanks! Any others?

Illinois - Low Match
Wisconsin - Low Match
Michigan - Match
NYU - Low Reach
Boston U - High Match
Northwestern - Reach
Swarthmore - Reach
Chicago - Reach
Penn - Reach

ECs could be stronger but you’re a great applicant! Extremely rigorous workload; unfortunately my school only offers three AP classes, and it’s a really small school.

Illinois (legacy, mother’s PhD, father’s MA) - low match
Wisconsin - low match
Michigan (legacy, father’s PhD) - high match
NYU - low reach
Boston U - low match
Northwestern - reach
Swarthmore - reach
UChicago (legacy, grandfather, not sure of level of degree) - reach, possibly lower because of legacy
UPenn - reach (of course)

… either way, you’re bound to find a place you can call home, you have great credentials :)

Chance back?

t3h bump…

Any ideas?

Illinois- low match
Wisconsin- don’t know enough about, but everyone else seems to think it’s a match!
Michigan- match
NYU- match (unless you’re applying to stern- then it’s a reach)
Boston U- match/in
Northwestern- reach
Swarthmore- reach
UChicago- match
UPenn- high reach

As for backups, you could apply to Fordham, Villanova, Drexel, Holy Cross, etc…

Thanks once again!

Decided to retake SAT, just registered for the upcoming March one…hopefully, I can get my score up in the 2100-2200 range.
