Hello. I was wondering if it is beneficial to pay $50 per day to move in early (August 16,17, 18). There are regular moving days (August 19,20), but my mom wanted to avoid the traffic. Does it make a big difference? Is it worth it?

I can’t really see that there would be that many advantages, as very few people would be there and you’d probably get lonely and depressed. If you want to avoid the traffic, pick a time that is really early or really late in the day. I checked in around 3:00 and it was unspeakably horrible.

Regular move-in really isn’t that bad. I checked in last year around 4:00pm, and we didn’t have to wait at all for the elevators or anything in Jester East.

The dorms are surprisingly depressing when they are empty so unless your roommate or another friend gets there early too, you’re gonna find yourself kinda bored.
I checked in to Jester after 7 on the Saturday before class started. We got a parking spot on the 2nd floor of Brazos and didn’t encounter too much traffic. The whole process wasn’t bad at all for me.
