Early Decicion Mistake

OK, I made a bonehead mistake. While complete the Common App for several Early Action schools I decided to go ahead and submit apps to other schools for Regular Decision as well. Unfortunately, on one application I accidently checked Early Decision (Binding). After submitting the application, within minutes I sent an e-mail to the school letting them know about the mistake, and also advising them (truthfully) that I was not applying to ANY schools under Binding Early Decisions. I asked them to include my application in the Regular Decision Pool.

Will that do the trick? Will they think I'm an idiot and toss may applicaton in the trash?

It has been a long weekend!

Unless you signed anything, then you are ok.

@Jamesjr. You have to sign the ED agreement before you submit online, I believe.

What school is this?

If I’m not mistaken, most schools will also ask your parent and counselor to approve your ED agreement by signing their signatures via Common App or mailing their signatures by mail. You should be fine if you don’t have these components turned in. Your application will probably just be viewed as incomplete and be deferred to the regular pile.
