Early Decision 2 Results

I applied early decision 2. I know we are supposed to hear back by February 15, but I’m hoping I will before. Please post telling us if you got in, or heard back from them. When do you guys expect to hear back?

Oh my gosh, the thread title nearly gave me a heart attack lol. I applied ED2 as well and thought the results had come out already.
I just looked at the ED1 thread, and it doesn’t look like anyone found out earlier…

Good luck everyone!

ED1 acceptee here…
If you’re interested we already have a facebook group set up! [Log In | Facebook](http://www.facebook.com/groups/162430803843027/)

D just got email notification that her acceptance packet is being mailed

Just got an email that my acceptance packet was mailed as well!!!

congratulations guys! make sure to check out our AU class of 2016 facebook pages and sign up for ■■■■■■■■, theres a whole community of incoming freshman out there for you to become part of!!!

Are people really signing up for ■■■■■■■■? I do hope people realize that ■■■■■■■■ is an option–one that costs money–and not a necessity.

I guess if people are using ■■■■■■■■, I’d like to know, because I have a kid who’ll be a freshman at AU in the fall after taking a gap year. I’m just not clear why you’d do that, when AU will help you through the rooming process for free in just a few months.

I urge folks to see what I said in December here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/american-university/1262361-about-au-class-2016-facebook-page.html.

hey guys! congrats for those are are getting accepted as ED2 students!! some information

 1. ■■■■■■■■ is 100% free, however us ED1 kids started a AU roommate group where you fill in a survey and see if you want to room with anyone.
 2. I’m slightly surprised that you guys are actually hearing on time, us ED1 kids were suppose to hear end of december but ended up hearing on DEC 15th.

Going OT but I honestly think ■■■■■■■■ is… excuse me for lack of words… bull.

The system AU has is fine and finding people on Facebook to be roommates is enough in my opinion. The ED1 Facebook page for Class of 2016 is ramming it down the student’s throats and it wasn’t like that for my year.

It just looks nasty in my opinion.

Really? Well, shut my mouth! I stand corrected.

What’s in it for ■■■■■■■■, then? Must be huge amounts of personally identifiable information about tens of thousands of undergraduates with disposable income.

It’s your information, I guess. If you want to give it away…

[edit]

Oh, wait, maybe not 100% free:

Frequently Asked Questions about ■■■■■■■■ | ■■■■■■■■;

@Sikorsky, um the only information your giving “away” is whatever is written on your facebook because that how it functions. As for what you posted, it still doesn’t make a difference, you can read people results and see who is the most similar to you.
@bk4972b not everyone uses it, it’s just a tool! and plus as I included in my previous post, our AU class made a group for finding roommates, we’re just creating many different options so come may or whenever they send us information for roommates, we’ll have a good idea of what we want

Like nan said, we dont use it to connect to roommates, or give away any valuable information. It’s just a quick quiz to take to compare with other AU kids, if you match with someone you can chat with them on facebook. There are upgradable versions of ■■■■■■■■, but the free version is a fine icebreaker, and as previously mentioned we do have an AU Roommates page as another resource, AU also has a matching service that we all know is coming in May, but since we’ve been accepted since December, can you blame us for getting jumpy and wanting to know more about our upcoming college experience?

Nan, Mikedog, et al., thanks for the information.

And, Mikedog, of course I can understand why you’re eager.

hey guys I applied RD but I was just wondering if any of you knew when the accepted students days were. thanks!

I don’t know anything about this spring, but I know that last spring, AU had admitted students’ days on two or three Fridays in April.

They were really good. So good that by about 2:00, my daughter said, “OK, I’m ready now. Let’s go pay the deposit and buy a sweatshirt.”

A girl in our Facebook group said she emailed the SPA dean and was told that freshman day is April 20th. I’m pretty sure there’s another date in April, but for now that’s all we know.
