Thought I'd create a thread for everyone who's applying ED! :)

For some reason, this is the first thread title to truly terrify me.

Have you submitted your app yet?

Haha, RaVNzCRoFT is a senior at WashU. So, yes. He has :P

Hahaha, yep. It’s just that the thread title makes me feel old.

Oh sorry lol. What’s your major?

Mechanical engineering.

I’m applying ED!! Have you guys submitted your apps yet?

Not positive, but probably will go ED. Obviously have not submitted app yet since I have to be sure to do that aha

I’m going to try to have mine submitted by the first week of November!

Nice! Do you guys know how to
Set up an interview with an alumni? I don’t know if I can make it out to St. Louis for another visit.

Hender- WUSTL has a program called APAP- they have local contacts that will contact students after you submit your app and pay the application fee (this is a new change this year)

Here is their contact info

Washington University in St. Louis
Alumni and Parents Admission Program
Campus Box 1028
One Brookings Drive
St. Louis, MO 63130
(314) or (800) 935-4826

^Just for reference, the “new change this year” that PsychoDad is referring to is that in the past, anyone who had submitted the supplemental form could request an interview.

In order to curb the high number of students interviewing (but not actually applying in the end), you now need the common app in (& the fee or waiver) before you can interview.

Out of the blue, my D was contacted by Wash U for an interview. Also, at the information session, they said they will contact you if you apply early. They said there are limited interviewers. It sounds like you cannot request an interview. Instead they will call you if they are interested. I think it is a great way for them to learn who you are. They told my D they wanted to put a face with the application. Smart!

ruby- that is partially incorrect.

While some students are randomly contacted, you can indeed request one by calling in or emailing the APAP email.

From some FAQ page on admissions:

"If you are interested in an alumni interview, please contact APAP by phone at (800) 935-4826 (toll-free) or (314) 935-4826, or by email at apap@wustl.edu. "

Thank you guys for the APAP info, even though it wasn’t directed towards me haha. Will definitely get on that…
WashU is seriously the only school I’ve been thinking about and I’m applying ED too… Kinda nervous :/

Does anyone know when WashU usually informs ED applicants of their decisions? Know the official reply dates Dec 15, but some schools generally get back earlier than their offal reply date.

For ED, it’s usually a few days before the deadline. Last year it was December 11.

Hey I’m applying ED too!

I submitted my app on Friday. Does anyone know when we get contacted with our portals?
