Early Decision/Action Responses

Does anyone know around when Early applicants start getting their decisions back?? I've been pretty much checking the mailbox since November 1st...

Well as of today, two kids got LSP already and one girl got into CAS for a special international program.

So looks like they're sending out the stuff even earlier this year, because LSP decisions were never this early. So this is definitely good news. :D

ahhhhhhhhhhhh cant wait!
...or can i?

off the admissions website...

"The majority of admissions decisions for Early Decision applicants will be mailed toward the end of the week of December 8th. (Please note that we said "the majority" and not "all".) Most of the remaining decisions will be in the mail by the end of the following week."

Chris, you already know people who have gotten letters? Weird.

Yeah, they're doing them pretty early this year. Pretty sweet. :)

Well not know personally, they posted on this forum. I trust them.

i know someone who just got accepted to CAS

Check your decision:

https://start1.nyu.edu/ibin/getnetid1.cgi

If you go there, enter your NYU ID/Social Security, DOB, and e-mail, you'll get one of two responses:
1) It will tell you your nyu e-mail address (meaning you got accepted)
2) You'll get an error (meaning either a decision hasn't been made yet, or you got denied)

Good luck ;)

It worked last year and the system is the same this year. To those who have already gotten their acceptance letters: you're supposed to do this to register anyway, so give it a try.

i'm not home, so I don't have those numbers with me, but I'm kind of glad, I don't think I want to find out that way...
BUT...
if someone else trys it, tell us if it works!

fyi hannahtastic: if you go to the e-mail address you applied with and search for messages from NYU, the last message should have your NYU ID. after that it's just your date of birth and the e-mail you applied with.

thanks! haha, I can't bring myself to try it anyway, maybe later...

GUYS just try it! haha I'm going to be a wreck for the next few weeks.

I tried it with my NYU ID number and it didn't work. It said I need my NETID number and I don't think the university has released those yet. If anyone has one, where did you find it?

That's what it's saying for everyone. I don't think they have us all in the system yet, because I doubt ALL of the people who've tried could be rejected.

I feel better now :) but I'm not going to do this thing again.
Oh, and there's another LSP I heard about! That makes maybe 3 or 4 so far?

what is LSP?

was this lsp-er from texas?

Nope, Jersey I believe.

GUESS WHAT. This LSP person says that email thing doesn't work for her either. So, cheer up guys!

Ahhhh I almost had a heart attack when I saw that post about checking your decision. Does anyone know if there is a way to do it through commonapp or embark??

^ I highly doubt it. NYU seems to like to torture us instead.

haha i can't agree more

guys...im freaking out, nyu only sent me an email with my University ID number, NXXXXXXXXX, thats all i have. is it the same for everyone else?well..at least, most of u guys?so right now, i have nth to log in, and have no where to check my application. i dont seem to have my netID and nyu email stuff...omg..is sth wrong?
