That’s awesome! I was surprised to get a call too - and it came up as an “unknown number” on my phone. Hope to see you in the fall!

It came up unknown on my cell as well, so I figured it was a solicitor or something…what a nice surprise! Hope to see you too AMorrison!

Congrats to those admitted.

AMorrison, one of my good friends on campus transferred from PCC! Also, I think CU could benefit from a roller derby team. You should think about trying to organize that over the summer.

I was just accepted today!!!
My only concern is that they are requesting my final Spring grades from my current University at the end of the semester. I had a 3.84 my first semester but fear if my grades are not as stellar this semester they will revoke my acceptance. Do you think this is a genuine concern or is the final transcript request more of a formality and decent, passing grades will suffice.

Nevertheless, I’m absolutely thrilled to start classes this fall!!!

I got the same request. I thought it was strange there was no “you must keep a 3.5 GPA this semester” stipulation or anything, so I think it must be just so they have the transcript on record? I mean, I would assume that as long as you don’t fail your classes you’ll be fine, but I’m not totally sure :).

Thanks! I hope that’s the case, I don’t plan on doing much worse than last semester but it would be nice to know that I can relax a little if I get a few B’s! I’ve sent in my deposit already so hopefully that will be enough to keep my spot! Congratulations to you, by the way!!

By the way, if anyone comes to campus for a visit, I’ll be glad to give an informational, albeit unofficial, tour.

Thanks for the offer hellojan. I may take you up on that since I’m going to try to attend one of the APS’s in June.

Congrats loveitall. I received the same request for Spring grades. I know this semester will have a couple lower grades, so I’m sweating it just like you are!

hey

first, congrads to all of you who have been accepted.

I’m wondering if the admissions committee ALWAYS calls acceptance students, and or has it always been early in the morning?

What time roughly in the day have you all been receiving these phone calls (if you can, state your time zone as well)

Thanks again

I’m not sure as to what they do about calling, I didn’t receive a phone call and was accepted but then again I could have always missed it on my home phone. However, a friend of mine who attends Columbia GS received a phone call from them so I’m really not positive what their protocol is. I have heard that if you are accepted they will send a Fedex package and if you are denied they only send a letter by mail. Hope that helps!

My phone call came at 12p or so, Pacific Time. According to the huge GS thread on the Columbia forum, not everyone gets a phone call, but we haven’t figured out why.

As for the APS - I’m also going to try to go in June! Either the second or the third session. Would be fun if we all ended up at the same one.

I received a call a few minutes before 10AM Eastern Time.

Hey quick question,

Did you guys have all your paper work such as transcripts and letters of recommendation turned in by the 1st of March? and if not, how long was it before you were notified for acceptance from the time your paperwork was processed in their system?

I got a call from the admission office on last Friday…
As many of you already noticed, it was unknown number which made me consider as a commercial call. The officer said the school will send me the admission packet till the end of next week… I cannot believe that I got in!! Hope this would happen to everyone who is waiting for your result!

hey minerva would you mind sharing your stats?

jnielsen - I did not having everything in by March 1, my file was incomplete until I took the GSAE exam on March 13 (my scores were recorded March 15 or so).

Congrats minerva!

Sure, jnielsen…(several months ago, I was combing through this website to find out the stats of other admitted students Hope this helps you.

Hey,AMorrison! I was abit anxious after I read your post before (i.e.why didn’t I get the call?? blahblah…you got that on 4/1, right??) Anyway,I do hope we could meet in the campus!!

Hey,

First, congrads to all of those who have been admitted.

I’m wondering whether or not it is confirmed that some people who are admitted do not receive a phone call? Or do all admitted applicants receive a phone call?

I was reading some thread from last year earlier today, and apparently some of the people who did not hear back from the office are mostly waitlisted. it just make me feel really nervous now, it’s like telling you ok, if you got a call by a unknow unmber it’s usually a good sign that you are accepted, (the fourth week or even sooner after you submit your app.) Or you are asked to come in for an interview atl least you have more 50% that they gonna accept you. however if you did hear back anything (after 6 weeks or even later) it’s usually that you are either waitlisted or rejected. Oh My!!! seems like I am looking forward for that call at the beginning of next month if not, I have to make a further plan…

Has anyone been asked for an interview? Any idea what they are looking for? I honestly think I am going to form an ulcer :(
