Early Decision Admissions

If ED applicants have not yet received a call/letter notifying them of acceptance, is it accurate to say they are denied for admission?

i would like to know the answer to the question above as well…

Do admissions officers browse CC anyways? If they do, then they should know the answer…

My suspicion is that they do. Some schools have adcoms post openly, offering advice, nostalgia, etc.

Our people are the non-interventionist gods of the boards. If they’re here, they don’t make their presence known.

ZOMGOMOMG a phone interview, Wednesday @ 3:30!!! Soooo nervous, though it’s going to be only 30 minutes.

Any last minute tips?

altruition, hi, sorry but are you an ED applicant or international student applicant? thanks

International student

thanks and good luck. I am still anxiously await for the decision.

Hey everyone,
Congratulations to all who’ve been accepted.

Has anyone received word on when they’ll be opening up Storybook for the fall semester?

Storybook is available now. I got my invitation to it about five days after I was accepted.

Thanks AMorrison,
Apparently I had been forgotten since I was a deferral. :frowning: No sweat, I emailed Robert and he set me up with my account.

Do the phone calls come in “private”? I don’t pick up if don’t know no. Did I maybe miss call???

Yes, it sounds like they all come in as blocked or private.

iluvny1,
They will of course leave a message with a call back number. Which is what happened with me.

Well GS is supposed to notify all ED applicants by May 1st regarding acceptance and nothing has come in the mail thus far. I guess they will notify me, and perhaps others tomorrow on who has been accepted. I wish I knew already… lol

Anyone receive anything recently??

I placed a call on Tuesday, as I presumed I was rejected, to schedule a meeting to review my application for feedback. And I was told that they hadn’t made a decision on my application yet, and that they were still reviewing apps - even ED. I was told another 7 - 10 business days and they would release the next round of yeas/nays.

Hi everybody,

First of all I didn’t know this forum exists… happy to find it.

I’m an International Undergraduate applicant as well.
I sent my application before April 1st.

1) In 1-2 days the 4-6 weeks time period will be over. Do you think we might get the decision in the next couple of days?

2) Are there any international applicants here who got their decision yet?

3) Do you have any idea how exactly International students are notified regrading their decisions? I had in mind that the most reasonable is by regular mail, but maybe it’s by FEDEX or by phone? (I don’t live in the USA).

Thanks a lot! Looking forward for your answers/ideas !

Adam

Hi isra - there are several people in your exact same position congregating in the Columbia College vs. General Studies thread in the main forum. It sounds like the consensus is that you should be hearing shortly and that you’d be notified by regular mail.
