Early decision advise.

I'm a high school senior currently interested in applying to an university through early admission.

My non weighted GPA is 3.9 my weighted is about 4.44, weighed down mainly by A's in standard classes. My sat score is 2060, a 680, 770, 630. It is very low because I've not retaken the sat since October my junior year. I'm retaking it tomorrow actually, my scores should rise.

My current act score is 35, my sat subject test scores are
Mathematics level 2: 800
Us history: 760

I took 2 ap classes both freshman and sophomore year, 5 my junior year, and I'm enrolled in 7 right now. All non-ap academic courses were honors, and many of my elective slots were filled by academic classes.
My ap scores are 5's: us gov, macroecon, calculus ab, environmental science, us history, human geography.
4's: statistics, biology, world history.

I'm currently enrolled in ap physics 1, ap physics 2, ap physics c electricity and magnetism, ap physics c mechanics, ap calculus BC, ap European history, ap English literature.

I can probably get a good recommendation from all my teachers, though that's true of everyone I guess.

I was enrolled in chorus my freshman and sophomore year.

I'm a 7 year member/vp of SECME(a science/engineering club), academic team member, 3 year member of national Honor society, 4 year member of anime club, founding member(and president of) of calculus appreciation society (a gag social club founded by me and 4 friends plus our calc teacher), the fellowship of Christian athletes, and the magic the gathering club.

I'm involved in no athletics. I participated in community service at a food pantry, and my middle school (helping the mu alpha theta club there I was a member of).

I've been involved in competitive mathematics on behalf of my school, though I've never placed anything.

I'm pretty worried about my lack of a sat subject science test, and the currently poor sat scores.

I'm currently considering applying to either upenn or John Hopkins for early admission, though I'm open to suggestions. I can't apply to any university requiring a subject science test.

I'll be graduating with 9 science credits, so hopefully that'll mitigate things.

I will have a science subject test in time for regular decision.

Any advise, suggestions, insults, or compliments to share?

I got national merit commended, (210 Florida). My SECME team is competitive and ranks, we have won regional competitions. My chorus was also quite competitive, very successful at different musical assessments, though I’d rather downplay that since I did quit

I’m interested in applying for engineering, physics, mathematics or economics. I am prepared to commit to a double major in physics and engineering, or just engineering.

I’m ranked 5 out of ~600 at my high school, so top decile. Physical location doesn’t concern me much, though I’m Floridian and I do consider 30° to be ungodly freezing. I’ve never even seen real snow. O.o.

Your SAT scores are irrelevant, given the 35 on the ACT you’d have to get darn close to 2400 to improve on that. Your grades are strong, and the SAT subjects you have are great. I’d say go for it with ED to the school of your choice.

Maybe sleep in tomorrow and work on your essays - there’s no need for another SAT score.

PS why are you in the fellowship of Christian athletes if you’re not an athlete?

Fellowship of Christian athletes meets in the mornings and provides free cookies and donuts. Plus in my sophomore year I kind of went Christian fascist, in mild rebellion against my homosexuality.

Sounds like Hopkins is a good fit for you. You should also consider Duke, UC Berkeley, Rice, and UC San Francisco. They all have strong science programs. Another good one is George Washington, it’d probably be a safety for you.

I do not understand who advised you to take the SAT tomorrow - your ACT is so much higher than your SAT and there is no reason to take the SAT.

Fyi there is no such thing as UC San Francisco undergrad so the above advice is wrong

I agree no need to worry about the SAT, your ACT is through the roof. You should only apply ED if you have a clear top choice that you would love to attend with no regrets AND you have already determined is financially feasible for your family. Do you have any schools that meet both of those criteria?
