Early decision and early action

If I apply to Cornell early decision, can I still apply to…

a) state schools that require me to apply early for scholarships
b) schools with non-binding early action problems such as MIT and University of Michigan
c) rolling admissions programs

I tried looking on the Cornell website but could not find much about these certain specifications.

You can apply anywhere you want.* But you would have to withdraw all the other applications if you are accepted to Cornell ED.

*As long as you are not violating rules of the other schools. For example, you can’t apply SCEA to Yale.

a) Yes, you can apply to public state schools as long as the scholarship is non-binding. D2 applied to UIUC under ther priority filing period (Sept 1-Nov1) and then withdrew her application after getting in ED to Cornell.
b) Yes. UChicago could be included in this as well.
c) Yes. My D2 applied to U Minnesota and was accepted in late September/early October last year. When she got in to Cornell ED, she withdrew the acceptance.

Also you can apply to any school RD. My D put in an RD app to WashU in early October because they don’t require a supplemental essay and it was an app that she could submit and get out of the way. Granted, it cost us $75 to submit it, but for her, it was peace of mind because WashU has a whole extra app process for scholarships (essay upon essay) which is more involved and would take more time to fill out.

Ditto above my D applied to 2 other schools & then withdrew application once accepted ED at Cornell
