Early Decision and SAT score dates

im taking the sat in october, and im doing early decision to the college, like NYU, BU.

now, according to collegeboard, it said that sat scores are due January 1. does that still pertain to early decision? because i still need sat 2's for BU.

January 1 is for regular decision. For early decision, you’ll have to turn everything in by the the early deadline. But apparently there’s a space where you can tell colleges that you intend to take more SATs (which I found out only a few minutes ago).

hi l am taking the test on October and think of taking subject tests as well. how can l know that if the colleges allow me to take more subject tests? thanks

For ED and EA, the October test is almost always fine sent regular delivery (Mich and GTech need tests completed before Oct). Also the majority even take Nov SAT subject tests as long as you send them blind by designating college as a free send on application for test. However, some notables, e.g., Stanford, do not accept beyond the Oct date for EA or ED. You should check rules of any particular college you are applying to and they usually state on their site the last testing date you can have for ED and EA although it is not always easy to find when searching the site. For example for BU go here and click on “Early Decision Applicants” and learn you have until Nov to complete tests for ED: http://www.bu.edu/admissions/apply/freshman/application-instructions/
