Oh I thought the TOEFL was required for all internationals but again I might be wrong. What does the post by the girl on tumblr mean @MaxRide94? Sorry I get confused at times ? :p

@SuperXX - She insinuated that Theory C might be true. Let’s hope so…

I think if you have a high enough SAT CR score or many years of schooling in English, they’ll waive it for you. MANY schools waive the TOEFL requirement for an over 600 CR score. Amherst is a little stricter and needs a 700+ score. Columbia needs a 650/670, Brown wants 600+. So it varies with each particular school but most of them will waive it on the basis of the SAT.

I really hope theory C works for all of us since all of us here have the little link. But again we don’t know for sure. My friends applied to other universities and they actually emailed them to tell them when they would be notified. Do you think moho will do the same or should everyone of us email them tomorrow to make sure
@MaxRide94 would you mind putting the link to the tumblr thing I really want to see it. Thanks in advance

Scroll down to the 7th and 8th post.

I didn’t know colleges let you know when they were going to release the decisions… If that’s true than what’s MHC waiting for? I think we should wait till Monday (US time) and then send a polite email asking them when they plan to release the decisions and in what order (rolling or all at once?).

Yes I heard from two different friends who have applied to two different colleges that they get notified about the date the decisions are coming out. I believe Mount Holyoke will email us soon. Nonetheless, I think it is a good idea to send an email tomorrow morning asking for this.

I second that haha! I’m up for emailing them and asking them about when they will let us know! And I really hope that theory C is correct… Because it makes a lot of sense if you think about it. This is so frustrating lol! >_<

It is frustrating for all of us. ughhh! anyway whatever the result is and wherever we end up going will be the right place for us. My prayers are with all of you girls. Keep it up hopefully Friday we can hear some good news. Let’s email the admission office tomorrow and find out. The first one that finds out please post the answer here. Thank you all!

I just sent them an email and I’m waiting for a response. What about you guys? Any luck?

Wow! That was fast.

I mailed it to admission@mtholyoke.edu

Here’s the response:
“Thank you for your email. Notification date for all Early Decision I
applicants is January 1st.”

:(

I just called the admissions office and they gave me the same generic answer but my guidance councilor told me decisions should be out before christmas definitely because theres no time between then and Jan. 1st. Hopefully decisions will be out by friday or saturday!! I’m dying from anxiety.

You’re totally right Hanz11, January 1st doesn’t make any sense. All the previous forums show that decisions start to come out before Christmas so why would they suddenly stick to the Jan 1st thing now?

Is anyone else looking back at their application and thinking that it sucks? Right now, my essay sounds terrible and my senior year schedule looks like something a kindergardener would take. While I hate to sound mopey, I have this nagging fear that I might get deferred/rejected.

@maxride94 omg same here! My applications looks like crap to me now. I hate my essay, and I’m starting to become miserable by the second. We are all going crazy! All my friends that applied ED either heard back or is hearing this week.
I wish the admissions officer gave us a precise answer!
For now, all we have is the speculations over the financial aid link! Bummer.

I got the exact same email. They will probably answer us before nonetheless this is totally driving me crazy and sick.

Their policy is to answer “by” January 1st- any time between when you apply and then. They probably only do it to be safe, so they don’t miss an earlier deadline :P

I hope we find out by friday or saturday. I don’t think I could handle waiting any longer. :(

I can’t even bring myself to look at my application because I know I’ll find something I don’t like and it will stress me out even more. :(

same here. when i finished my application i was all confident about it, but now i think i have a good chance of being deferred I even got my graduation date wrong! And i don’t even read my essay anymore, because i’ll just end up scolding myself for not spending enough time writing it. four more days, and we’ll hopefully get our results.

I don’t know if this information helps in any way, but they still aren’t finished looking at my app. my supplement has no US views yet :(

hmmm does anyone know if they actually show whether or not your app has been reviewed? hello everyone btw :P

I don’t think it shows but apparently if they ask for more documents on your financial aid page that is a good sign. No idea just heard.

@superxx what type of information for financial aid? I checked it and said that I have my parents w2 forms and federal tax return? Haha and also how do you know if they viewed your app?? XP

I dont know how it shows they viewed your app but someone said somewhere that if you go on ur financial aid link and u log in and they require of you more documents or something like that not the ones we sent that is a good sign. I am not sure about this someone just said this. Honestly we don’t know anything until decisions are released people are starting to hear about their ED1 decisions. I am dying in my corner right now…
