Anyone know, is there a class of 2017 FB page?

I’m in!!! Congratulations!!!

My D got a happy phone all at 4 p.m. ET yesterday to say she is in. Congrats, everyone.

Congratulations Atlas26, Daniellemf and NotMamaRose’s D!! My D got in too – such a happy day! :)

My S did not receive a phone call but was very excited to go online at midnight and learn that he was accepted. Congratulations to all who got in and good luck to any who may have been deferred. This is our second process in two years and we know the anxiety this process creates around a home.

Congrats to all and welcome to the Elon family. It really can and does feel like that. S got his call a year ago and we are thrilled. Today I tear with joy for all of you. Enjoy the ride.

Congratulations on the acceptances! We love Elon!

Such a great thread! Congratulations to all who are getting their ED acceptance!! My D applied EA and is looking forward to hearing (and dreading it a little too, so stressful!).

At the risk of gushing, I just want to say how impressed I have been with the Elon Admissions Office folks from start to finish, especially my D’s admissions counselor. They have been so friendly, nice, and helpful, and never made my D or me feel like we were bothering them when called or emailed with questions. My D contacted them two days before she made her second visit to see if it was too late to arrange to go to lunch with a student, and they responded within a few hours that it was all set. They had asked for her possible majors, and because there are two, they had a student from each major take her to lunch. Both girls were delightful – energetic, engaging, and helpful. In addition, before that visit, my D had emailed three faculty members in three different departments to ask if she could observe a class, and all responded positively and greeted her by name when she visited. How could she not be bowled over?

Congratulations to all of the early decision accepted students and wishing the best to all that were deferred. My daughter received the acceptance call at 4 yesterday - we are so happy!

Congrats to all new members of the Elon family!! Please know that we will all be here to answer any and all questions you might have over the next 8-9 months and beyond!!

Thank you Samtalya, Rockvillemom and Rodney – I’ve been following your posts on Elon as we were making our decision. Your insights and experience have been so helpful, and I so appreciate your willingness to answer questions. Rodney you’ve already been a Godsend on the gluten free issue. We could not be more excited that our D gets to go there next year!

If anyone would like to add me on Facebook, i would love to add them as well! Please send a PM and ill add you! CC doesn’t seem to let me send them at the moment -.-

I’m from Illinois btw!

Congrats and welcome, everyone! It’s such an exciting time, the next year will FLY by. Try to get to one of the Orientation week-ends if you can!

Looking back 4 years from when my S did EA I will tell you that if our family were to do it all over again, but knowing what we now know, we would choose Elon and just enjoy the ride. So happy for all of you, it will not be perfect but if in the end if your half as happy as our family it will be soooo gooood. :)

Congrats to all! My nephew will be joining you, he got his ED accept yesterday as well. My daughter is a junior there, if you have any questions just ask.

Atlas, I think you need a certain minimum number of posts before CC will let you send PMs.

Yes I know, it’s kinda dumb, haha. Guess i gotta go around and post 5 more messages somewhere, haha

Congrats to all ED acceptances! We are counting the days until EA decisions are announced. Really hoping for an acceptance and a merit scholarship for DS. Does anyone know if merit scholarships are posted with decisions?

D is starting to think about where she wants to live. She’s very social and would like a hall style dorm (or one with great common areas where you can meet lots of people), but also would like to live in a co-ed dorm (I’m not sure she can have both at Elon). I know that the global community will be finished by fall, so the configuration for freshmen may be different than it has been. Does anyone have any thoughts or advice?

2kidzmom - merit awards, such as the Presidential scholarship, are posted with the admission decisions.

Superwoman - not sure what the dorm choices will be for incoming fresmen, but Colonnades fits your description. Halls are co-ed, they have very nice common areas, and sort of combine hall style living and suite style living, as there are suites, but they open onto a common hall. I think it is the best housing at Elon that I have seen.

A lot of freshman live in Danieley. The suites are nice and new, and they have their own building with a small gym, deli, etc. but, it is a little remote. The suites are self-contained, so they do not open onto a hall.

Have no idea about the new dorms being built. If you go to freshman orientation in March, you will be able to do an in depth dorm tour and perhaps learn more about the new dorms as well.
