Hi,

I'm on commonapp.org and submitted my early decision a week ago. it still says my status is "OFFLINE." Have anyone submitted their early decision application and have the same status? I'm not sure when Holy Cross is starting to review their applications. I thought they would have already began (and thus started downloading online student-applications).

HC has been reviewing them for at least a month, my friend got accepted ED 3 weeks ago.

My D was accepted ED and received her letter on Dec1. My D letter states she has been accepted to the pre-med/ pre-dental sequence. I undrestand that this is not a major, but why does it state she has been accepted into this particular program? Of course she plans on doing the pre-med sequence, but she is not majoring in this. If you plan on law school does the letter read you're accepted into the pre-law sequence?

Hi Prepparent,

Congrats to your daughter on ED acceptance to Holy Cross. My D went through this same thing last year and is a happy freshman at HC. She is also in the pre-med program, so I'll share what I know (or think I know). Students must be accepted into this particular program. Not all are! It gives pre-med students priority for the chemistry, calculus, and other classes that are pre-med requirements (they fill up FAST) and also gives them a pre-med advisor. Your daughter will also have to choose a major and will get an advisor in that department as well.

I can't answer your question about pre-law. I'm not certain if there are specific pre-law course requirements.

Hope this helps!

bluesmom,

Thanks so much! I originally thought you applied to the pre-med sequence after your Freshman year. This was my misunderstanding.

It is my understanding that the pre-med sequence is quite challenging yet at the same Holy Cross does not subscribe to "survival of the fittest". Can you shed any light on this?
