Early Decision Apps Hit Record High - From UPENN Newspaper

:( i hope a nuclear bomb goes off and kills all my competition LOL jk

well if the total class is roughly 2500
and 45% comes from Early Decision
roughly 1100 comes from early decision

1100/3400 (roughly)
comes to a percentage of 32.32% estimate

bahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

does anyone know what percentage will be accepted from those who applied ED to the College?

Approximately 33%.

Ahh we're so close now...

The numbers were right where I expected them (~3500), so they don't worry me...

That would be Benjamin Disraeli.

I have a feeling that the stats for our year will be even harder. At least the quality of Penn students goes up, making the college look better in general.

i feel like all schools these days are getting record highs on ED apps..at my highschool like 80% of students are applying somewhere ED... crazy... but in a way its kind of good because it means less competition RD and less people applying to 10 schools theyre not going to end up attending

we need to update this thread!!!!

its chaos all over again, do i sense a trend?

"Stetson expects to fill over 45 percent of the Class of 2009 with early decision applicants. Students will find out if they were admitted this Friday."

this friday?

no not this friday lol i wish but that article is from last year

no way do they take anything above 20% for Wharton ED

EDIT: I got really confused on the dates.... I just realized this thread is old from last year

haha same here i was like wait a minute...then i saw the dates and was let down.

they take alot of kids from jersey! hopefully im one of them!!

Surely this thread is redundant now, why not update it to the 2005 ED stats thread?

I thought that was Mark Twain.

Hey I was looking at the Daily Pennsylvanian and was just getting more worried as wednesday looms nearer. Although im starting to except that I have like no chance at getting in ED. My SATs are good but not even like 35th percentile! I got like 650 math 680 verbal and a 29 composite on the ACT. Go EC's right? Plus i got a letter of reccomendation from the Minority Whip in the Pennsylvania Senate. Senator O'Pake is a great mentor. OK without soundin like a whiny little piece, how much do letters of rec. from alumn help? GOD HELP ME! (insert scream here) get back to me before wednesday at 7 please

oh I was trying to keep myself busy and the quote is Benjamin Disraeli. Hey if I get rejected I'll just curl up with the Italian Job, those Minis always make me feel better. Hey guys what are your favorite 'facing rejection' movies?
