Flavian:

have the engineering school been increasing the number of freshman classes?

I've not heard any information on that. I would think that all the schools increase class size at the same rate.

All I gotta say is holy crap.

wow, lots of kids applying! I think it's a good thing that people are preferring Penn more and more now.

I know! it's great! makes the University more attractive. But on the other hand...it makes admission more competitive :(

I divine chaos here at the Penn board on Dec. 10 :(

is it december 10 or 14 we get our decisions back?

i know the pin letter says dec. 14, but others have said 10th

it is 7pm on dec 14 for sure, even that article varifies thar

o, i read some ED result threads last year and a lot of them were dated on the 10th.. my bad

dooit, from what i've heard is that decisions sometimes come out before the official release date, so it may be before the 14th...but the official date is 12/14 @ 7PM

After trying on line to get it, and getting NO Response. It finally showed up in the mail. Now I am sure I will memorize it-like the way I memorized my social security number while waiting for the SAT proctor to figure out what was going on last year......seems like a long time ago. Man, my parents just don't understand how much pressure I am under. I feel like this decision is my WHOLE LIFE. I loved Penn from the first moment I saw it. I didn't think it would turn into the "hot school." How come the "C-change" had to happen when I applied?

ipod145: you took the words right out of my mouth

all i can say to this news is:
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

i second princess's comment. x35324654767856865743754

What is the history of % class filled by ED for the last several years? I'm just wondering because even though Dean Stetson said it would be the "same" this year, even the difference of a percentage point or two could help the EDers if they could increase the number by even a little.

I think it is in Penn's interest to motivate ppl to do ED in the future. I hope they can find a way to give us a break.

50? roughly

Its just under 50%. They always keep percent class filled my ED under 50. If it goes above 50 then it is said to be a deterant to RD applicants or something.

lets pray it goes from 47 last year to 49.9 this year.

Wow........just ****! This is so HORRIBLY disappointing! I should have figured when about 20 people from my school decided to apply........everyone and their brother suddenly wants to go to Penn............

Just this afternoon, I was thinking about how I'm tired from constantly being disappointed in life, and how amazing it would be if Penn turned out to be a success..........looks like come Dec 14, I'll be in for the greatest disappointment of my life.

It's a sad day for us Ed'ers.
