Amherst college’s early decision acceptance rate is 38%-40%. I am an international student from India with financial need and will apply here. Is it ok looking to apply looking at my profile (mentioned in previous discussion).
That ED acceptance rate can be misleading as many of the ED applicants have a hook, i.e, athletic recruit, first generation college student, URM, etc. Despite your stellar academic stats, your odds of being accepted, in my opinion, are much less than the 38-40% acceptance rate considering you are an international student with financial need.
Actually, Amherst is one of only seven colleges in the United States that is 100% need-blind for international students. And it meets full demonstrated need. So the OP’s financial status will not affect his admissions chances at all.
Yes, your chances are better ED and if I were you, I’d apply that way.
