Hi.

hurts…ten char

I don’t think applying ED can hurt your chances in any way. If you feel it’s the right school for you, then definitely apply ED. Remember, Cornell looks for fit.

It helps .

i know for some places ED/EA hurts chances cuz of legacies and athletes and other ppl with near-perfect profiles…

yeah, at Cornell, unhooked ED hurts

unhooked?

Do u mean that I have to look interested in the major i’m applying to? cuz i’ve heard on this site that Cornell picks ppl who seem interested in the major not just high stats and good Ec’s

If you are within range or better for Cornell, you’ll get a bump for applying ED. The reason is they could lock you in during the ED round. On the other hand, if they feel they could wait on you (as in they’ll get a lot more applicants like you) then they’ll defer you or reject you. If you need financial aid, ED is not the way to go.

Except for highly selective schools, ED would usually help if you have very good stats. As you could only do one ED, I would use it very wisely.

Cornell openly states on its Web site that ED helps:

basically ED is always a plus for almost all schools i think.

no one sensed sarcasm in my post…haha

Okay.

I have decent test scores, tough classes with several B’s and mediocre EC’s…i’d be so happy if i got into cornell…

my motto is that all “good colleges” are all the same, it’s just what you make of it…then there are variables mixed into that…but yea…be happy wherever you go

hmmm idk about my major which is math/applied math. I did some competitions, qualified for AIME, and thats’s it. All my other EC’s are violin

just apply ED if you really want to and hope for the best, that’s what i’m doing. (started going to church last week lmao jk)
